How to Train a Dragon (Dreamworks) Live Spectacular Show

This Saturday we spent some time with just the boys and took them to watch a live show that was simply amazing. How to Train a Dragon Live Spectacular was a very good show. Watch the cartoon movie before seeing the show to know what is going on if you've never seen it!

Be prepared when you go to spend a lot of money. Unless you have a firm grip on your wallet be prepared to empty it especially when you get those puppy dog eyes from your kids. Before we even reached our seats there were stands filled with overpriced action figure toys, plush toys, spinning toys, glowing toys, toys you can wear and t shirts. This is common every time we go to a show but man, my pocketbooks hurt.

Of course we're suckers for those darn puppy eyes so we ended buying those action figure dragons (where only the legs move - some action.) and glowing necklaces. Because we were unable to bring my nephew we bought him a dragon and glowing necklace too. Here's a break down of some of the toys:

After seeing those prices I didn't ask for any more prices. That was only the merchandise. Our show was in the Jerome Schottenstein Center so of course we had the super duper food choices for prime cheap prices (<= sarcasm) I bought 1 minute maid lemonade and 1 powerade (small bottles) for $7.50. WOW! At another stand for 2 pretzels, large popcorn, large soda = $18. The only good thing is the souvenir cup we get to keep.

All in all it was a very good show and the robotics were amazing. There was plenty of fire, smoke, flying dragons, dancing vikings and walking /interacting dragons. We attended the 11 am show on a Saturday which had little to no crowd with 2 other families in our section which our seats were the first row right behind VIP. We purchased our tickets through groupon so for a $78 seat we paid $46. If we would have bought the same groupon for another day or time we would have been a section back in 204/205. I also heard from a friend there were technical difficulties so it made their show a little long and tiring.


This was a very good family show but again a little pricey when everything adds up. Can't wait for another outing! Hopefully we can get good seats for the Cirque du Soleil coming soon!

Back to School. again.

It's September, the time that school is back in for the kids, but not only the kids but me too. 

I returned back to school in 2008 going on and off as the money would allow me to.
This past summer I was enrolled but financial aid held the money as I reached 150%. For those who don't know what that means, it means I have used 150% of financial aid allowed and they suspended it asking why has it taken me so long to graduate. Well as you see, because I was so indecisive I changed my major 3 times since returning adding more prerequisites to my plan which was very stupid of me since I ended up majoring in what I originally chose back in 1996. Stupid, yes I know.

So here I am, a 30+ woman, mother of 5, going back to school Autumn quarter walking around with all the kids that are half my age. Embarrassed? No. In fact, a little too outspoken at times. I'm at that age in my life where I'm less shy and a little more in the "I'm too old to care" where maybe I shouldn't say everything that pops in my head. As my friend once put it, diarrhea of the mouth. Shit just flies out of my mouth. But in more cases than one it has help me get to know the other students in my class and allow us to collaborate notes and help. I've even been allowed to borrow books of classes fellow classmate have had and saved me tons of money. Also letting the noobs in on a secret of college, rent  your books if you'll never refer to them again in life. (www.chegg.com)

I've been around too long and am too comfortable going to school but for some reason, the summer break was way too long this time around. I fell into my lazy mode. Laying around watching Korean subtitled dramas and eating out constantly. Without a care in the world playing games on Facebook just to kill time at work. AMAZING how times are slow when your doing nothing but it is absolutely relaxing when you have NO DEADLINES.

 Now, there are deadlines and I tend to screw myself over by not doing my reading, assignments, homework or practice exercises. Why? I'm a natural procrastinator. I work best right before its due... sometimes. But I screw myself over because I don't have enough time and get too far into unimportant things. Second week in the semester and do you believe I have yet to open a book!! Bad student.. yes I am. But for myself and my family I must finish. Graduate an associates program after over 10 yrs in community college. What should have taken me 2 yrs has grown over my children's childhood. For as long as they can remember, Mommy has been in school just as long as they have. 

I wrote this oh too long blog to help motivate myself to open a text and at least write the notes over last class's lecture. Will I? One day, it may not be today, but one day. I will write notes, do my homework and my exercises. But today doesn't seem to be the day.  Computer science, the forever changing field of my choice, my death sentence, for yes I do pass my classes but do I understand the stuff I read? More than likely, no. Scary, but lucky for everyone in need of a computer tech, I won't be the one. I'm just doing this to graduate and tell my children, YES MOMMY GRADUATED COLLEGE.. one day. Until that day, I continue on my way to my full time job that pays for the bills and extra curricular activities of the family.

Introductions are in order

I figured since this is my first ever blog entry I should introduce you to my life. 

I am a twice married mother of five who loves to read romances, eating out and rotting in front of the TV/computer watching Korean TV dramas. My friend / co-worker suggested I do a blog on reviews of restaurants and foods. 

My everyday life consists of sitting in my office running around on the web looking for things to entertain my mind while I kill time before I leave work to either go to community college or home to my family. 

I am a princess at 34 because I refuse to do anything active at my house or anywhere else. I sit on the couch until my husband cooks while my children clean. I do become a master chef when the urge hits me along with master pho chef every Sunday since that is ultimately my husbands favorite thing in the world besides the family. "Pho Sunday" is Facebook famous because of our traditions. 

I am a genius in my own mind hence why everything revolves around me so you are actually living in my world, but my powers are limited because there are too many people physically around me. Besides, if my road rage collides with my godly powers, I think there would be no people in the world because there's always something about someone else's driving that pisses you off, isn't there? 

I can't let you know too much about me because there is always a government official trying to figure me out so I'll leave it at that. Enjoy my opinions but remember, they are only opinions.
